Scent of a Woman... Korean drama review.

Good drama. :D

Aaaw... I am so sorry.
I mean, my post is supposed to be yesterday, isn't it?
But I was too caught up with this new Korean drama that I have been watching since the start of my holidays.. :D

Anyways, I thought my first sharing will be a tutorial on how to do friendship bracelet.

But then I checked my materials and found out that it is not complete. :(

So I share this instead. :D

The drama that has got me addicted from episode 1.

(Actually I feel bad about not sharing the tutorial... :( so from now on I will not promise anything. I will just share whatever idea I might have at the present moment. :D It's better that way don't you think?)

Now back to the drama. Scent of a Woman. :D

Kyaaaaaaa~!!! ^0^!!

First of all, I need to make it clear that I am not much of a Korean drama lover.

However this drama is really worth watching.

Seriously.

It's like one of the best dramas I have watched before.

Compared with the other Korean drama that I have recently watched.

Secret Garden
Yea... =.= I hate this drama so much.
Although I really like the main actress, I hate the character that she portrays.

Really? Sacrificing yourself in the name of love?
Really? Is that really noble?
Really?

=.=

Anyways, back to Scent of a Woman.

What makes this drama so enchanting?

I would say it is the theme of this drama.

Live your life to the fullest. Take time enjoying the life you still have. Especially when you never knew when it will be taken away from you.

The story is centralized around this theme.

Which to me is fresh.

No sappy-sappy I will not do this because it will make you sad and because I love you kind of love relationship.

I especially hate those.

Really?

Saying you hate the person when you really love him because of some blackmailing done by stupid psychotic mother saying that they will harm their own son just to see him sad is a good thing?

I guess not.

Which gets us back to the them of Scent of a Woman.

The main character in this story, Lee Youn Jae, is a 35 years old spinster who works as some kind of an under-appreciated employee in a tourism company called Line Tour.

Lee Youn Jae
Initially she lived a boring life, constantly being stepped on by others, not given enough credit for what she have done, and of course, men would not even spare even a glance at her. (I think they made the main character to initially be really pathetic because it gives a lot of impact later in the story.)

This initial Lee Youn Jae to me portrays the way some people live in this world. They live for the sake of just living. Work their tails off for nothing. Never give a damn about life. They are better off just be like zombies walking around. They have no real purpose. They put off the chance of truly experience life. That's what she was.

She was so under-appreciated that she needs to compromise with her boss just to get a day off to go to the hospital to get a check up because she suspects something is wrong with her body.

There she meets with her childhood friend.

Chae Eun Suk
The doctor who diagnoses her with gall bladder cancer level 3. Which I think must be very critical since she was given only 6 months more to live.

Only 6 months!

Imagine. Living your life working your tails off for something you don't know and suddenly given the news that you only have 6 months to live. How would you react?

Yea. That's how our main character reacts too.

She was so heart broken but she still went back to work. (she was only given half day off). Where she was pressurized because of something that she had not even done. She was confronted by her boss, or the manager, and the Chief of Line Tour's business partner, Im Se Gyoung.

Manager Noh - jack ass
Im Se Gyoung - Bitch.
I pitied her at that part. She was very pitiful because of the news and because of being accused of something she had not done. Which gives me the fullest satisfaction when she finally riled up and defended herself by standing up against the Bitch - Im Se Gyoung. Haha. Well, I won't go into much detail of that, you have to watch the drama to find out. Yes. It is worth watching.

She resigned, and travels to Okinawa, Japan to find the beach that keep on appearing in her dreams. She meets with her love interest there, the oh-so-cute Kang Ji Wook, who are also unfortunately the bitch's Im Se Gyoung's soon-to-be fiance...

He's so cute!!! OMG!!! <3
Then things happen... *insert cliche love story here*... for a few episodes, I really am annoyed with the story line, I won't lie here. But since I really wanted to know what happens next I just endure and watched it. But some of the parts are really meaningful, like the tango lessons she is taking.

She made this bucket list which lists down 20 things she wanted to do before she dies. I would like it better if the drama only centers around her completing her bucket list though. But the side stories are fine. :D

I especially like the part when she reconciled with her love interest Kang Ji Wook, and he coolly says this to her.

Kang Ji Wook: I thought that I may die before you do. And at that moment when I close my eyes, I fear of the regret that I may have for not keeping a woman called Lee Youn Jae by my side till the end. (kyaaaa!!!! ^0^!!! <3)

That's not what I wanted to highlight.. =.= I can't remember the exact words though, but it goes something like this.

Kang Ji Wook: I may not know how much longer I may live. Tonight I might have a heart attack. Tomorrow I may be involved in an accident. But one thing I know.... *insert cliche love quote here*

I want to highlight that part. Because it represents the whole theme of this drama.

Living your life to the fullest now and not later because you may never know when you will stop living.

haha... That's why this drama is awesome. I like it so much because of this theme.

heee.. :D

I hope you like this drama as I have.

16 episodes were nice and enjoyable.

but it gets harder from episode 8 to episode 11 or 12 if I am not mistaken. =.=

but just endure the sappy part.

Like me, I just take the parts which really means something.

Like when she shows the determination to live and overcome her cancer.

That is nice.

anyhow..

till the next time of my sharing! <3

bye! <3

I give you my love~~~ :3
Last words from me before I end my blog.

Live your life NOW.

Don't wait for later. :D

If you have that crush you have been dying to confess to, just go. The worst is just being rejected right?

If you have that dress you always wanted to buy, buy it!

If you want to go somewhere for a holiday~ go~!.

The worst can be straightened.

As long as you keep living, there is still hope.

There is always tomorrow.

but don't wait, you may never know when tomorrow never comes. ;)

Isn't it? :D

wink! <3

  1. Have you ever try on Baker King Kim Takgu? It was a nice story. Quite long - 30 episodes - but it worth watching. If you want an inspiring story, I recommend you that drama. :)
